Rodrigo Baggio

Combining the Brazilian Music, Jazz Improvisation and elements of Contemporary Classical Music, Brazilian guitarist/composer Rodrigo Baggio (b. 1976) has excelled internationally in 2012.

He was the guest guitarist of Université Laval (Quebec/Canada) in 2012, premiering four compositions commissioned by Professor Dr. James Lebens for that occasion.

In 2015, he was the guest guitarist of Vox Novus Organization (New York/USA), performing at the ‘Fifteen Minutes of Fame’ Festival (Jan Hus Church) and “A Concert of Brazilian Music” (Ryan’s Daughter Pub), alongside Brazilian singer David Souza, in Manhattan.

In 2016, he was the guest artist of the ‘No Cover’ Show – TV 34 (Montclair/USA), performing pieces from his album ‘Afora’ (Improvisations for Electric Guitar).

In 2017, he was the guest artist of Bremen University (Bremen/Germany), performing a solo concert of Brazilian Music.

Alongside the concerts, Mr. Baggio has composed music for different ensembles and musical projects totalizing over 60 premieres in 16 countries around the world.

-Academic Production:

His compositions "Voeu" and "Hymne" (for Tenor and Piano) were the subject of a doctoral treatise (Musical Performance) written by Brazilian singer Dr. David Souza at Université Laval (Quebec/Canada) in 2016.

His composition "Skyways" (for Woodwind Quintet) was the subject of a doctoral treatise (Musical Cataloging) written by Dr. Natalie Szabo at Florida State University (Tallahassee/Florida) in 2016.

A graduated musician from UNAERP (University of Ribeirão Preto/Brazil), Baggio is currently developing his project "Solo Guitar".
